Changes to the appointment system

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

From 9-September, we are introducing a new and fairer way of allocating urgent and routine appointments via the online form to avoid the ‘first come, first served’ morning rush. A GP will triage your request to prioritise appointment timings. Please read the attached for more information.

How do I book an appointment?

If you have access to the internet on a phone or computer, visit our website and click ‘Request or cancel an appointment’ and then ‘request appointment.’ You will be asked some information about your problem and how you would like us to deal with it. This information will help us respond to you in the most appropriate way.

Our new system helps us to manage the demand and capacity ensuring that all our patients receive the right care within a suitable timeframe by the most appropriate person as all requests submitted will be reviewed on the same day by a doctor.

Our forms will be available between:

Medical request forms – from 8am until safe capacity reached

Admin request forms – Monday to Friday 8am-5pm

Who reviews our appointment requests?

One of our doctors will review each patient request to decide which member of our healthcare team is best placed to help, the most suitable timeframe for an appointment, an appropriate clinician and whether this is best suited to be by telephone or in person in the practice. You may also be directed to a suitable service such as pharmacy first, physiotherapy or the acute illness clinic.

What if I don’t have access to the internet or cannot fill out the form?

If you cannot use the internet or fill out the form for any reason, please call us on 01932336933 – we will complete the form on over the phone with you.
