Electronic Prescription Service
The key benefits are:
1. We can send prescriptions electronically to your chosen (nominated) pharmacy, like an email, and it arrives there instantly.
2. We can send repeat prescriptions likewise, and they arrive almost immediately. Because the electronic repeat prescriptions are processed more easily and simply in our surgery when it is electronic, there is no chance of prescriptions being delayed or going missing. No electronic scripts have been lost nationally since the service was introduced.
3. If an item needs to be changed, it is much more easily done in the electronic environment, than in the paper world!
All you need to do is simply choose your "nominated" pharmacy, and either sign up at the pharmacy, or at the surgery. Practice and pharmacy staff can `nominate` for you at your request.
From that point onwards, your prescriptions will always automatically be sent there unless you tell us otherwise.
If you wish to change your nominated pharmacy to a different one, this can be done in an instant, and the previous pharmacist will not be aware of it.
Some patients however, are NOT suitable for this service - if you like to use a different pharmacy every time, then this service is probably not for you.
